N4C Contests Resume in September

N4C (North Central Camera Club Council) is a non-profit organization of over 40 camera clubs located in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.  The N4C year runs from September to May. The decision to join N4C was made because we wanted to belong to a larger community and to afford additional opportunities for competition at a higher level.  The contests are judged by member clubs and the basis for arriving at scores includes a total of points earned for technique, composition and impact, each with individual scores by three judges.  Our club takes its turn judging one of the contests three times a year.  Here is a link for how to enter the N4C contest and here is a link to galleries of past winning images.

Sad News

Melissa Anderson has had some very sad news   Last spring her beloved husband, Tom, her best friend, hiking, biking, and traveling buddy was diagnosed with ALS. She is asking for help to bring hope of a cure to those diagnosed with this devastating disease.  On September 14, 2019, she is joining the movement to cure ALS with hundreds of walkers for The ALS Association’s Twin Cities Walk to Defeat ALS.  ALS is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. Every 90 minutes, another person in this country is diagnosed with the disease.  There is currently NO cure. And that’s just unacceptable.

So it’s why Melissa is walking – for those who can’t. Your one-time, tax-deductible donation, will help people in our community and also fund some pretty cutting-edge research. Click on the link to make an immediate impact! Any amount you feel comfortable giving is appreciated; every dollar makes a difference. With your support, we can make a positive impact today for everyone living with ALS tomorrow.  Donation Link
