Spring Break and the Interclub Competition

Save the Date for Spring Break!

The Spring Break event will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019!   This is an event that area photographers have looked forward to since 1985.

Place: Mounds View High School, 1900 Lake Valentine Road, Arden Hills, MN 55112
Cost: $45 (includes lunch)
Cost with student ID: $20

What’s included: Keynote speaker Craig Blacklock will start the day with a 2-hour program followed by a variety of other speakers and topics to choose from. Lunch, snacks and coffee breaks are included in your registration fee. Numerous vendors will be present, and the Raptor Center will be bringing birds, including a bald eagle, to photograph during the lunch period. The 2019 Interclub awards for individual and club photo competitions will be announced.  Though the speaker schedule has not been completed yet, you can depend upon a great lineup. 

The 2019 Interclub Competition

One of the greatest benefits of our club being a member of the Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs (TCACCC) is the opportunity to compete in this annual competition. There are five categories: Monochrome Print, Color Print, Nature Digital, Realistic Digital and Contemporary (Creative) Digital.  A person can enter up to four images for each category.

Interclub Judging

This year our club is responsible for the digital portion of the competition.  In addition to updating the rules and forms, we will be responsible for securing judges, running the judging, ordering awards and ribbons, creating a catalog for the competition and doing the awards program at Spring Break.  We will need some volunteers to help on Friday evening, February 15, and volunteers during the judging on Saturday, February 16.  We will also need some volunteers at Spring Break, March 30, to help with the awards program.  Use the contact form or email me directly if you can help.

Important Interclub Dates:

  • Saturday, February 2, 2:00-4:00 pm, deliver your Interclub prints to the Phipps.
  • Saturday, February 2, 5:00 pm – Deadline for Entry
  • Saturday, February 16, 9:00 am – Digital Judging at the Phipps
  • Saturday, March 30, 8:00 am – Awards Program at Spring Break
