On Wednesday, March 5, 6:30 pm, Mariann Cyr will present her program “Spring is Coming: A Year of Minnesota Wildflowers. This will be a Zoom only meeting.
More than 2,100 plant species grow in Minnesota, both native and non-native. We will take a walk through the year sampling some of the more photogenic wildflowers. In addition to photos, there will be information on resources you can use to plan your own wildflower journeys.
Mariann’s interest in wildflowers and photography began in college while pursuing degrees in biology and studio art. I’ve pursued this pastime ever since with a focus on nature subjects. I chaired the Minnesota Botany Exhibition of Photography, the only PSA international competition devoted to plants, for a number of years. I’m active in several photography clubs and was president of the Minnesota Nature Photography Club. I find that when I have a camera in my hand that I lose all track of time and the stresses of the day.
