I am looking forward to a more normal life and grateful that our club has survived the last three years. It seems that everywhere I look, things have been cancelled. N4C has cancelled its spring convention after cancelling last fall’s convention. The Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs has cancelled this year’s print competition. And originally the TCACCC planned to have an in-person Spring Break, and then decided that wouldn’t be advisable in the current Covid climate. Later this week the Council will make the decision of whether to go ahead with a replacement virtual Spring Break.
On a more positive note our club has a lot to look forward to. We have some great speakers on our calendar (see the calendar page). I am especially looking forward to the program on March 2 with Nic Stover on “Exploration of the Desert Southwest”. I plan to do some traveling this year, and Nic will share location information. Our salons are continuing as well as the N4C contests. On Wednesday, January 5, 6:30 pm we will announce the year end awards after some time for members to join the meeting and socialize.
Reminder:
The digital version of the Interclub Competition is still going forward. The entry deadline is 5 pm, January 22. See the Council web page for the rules and entry forms. Our club members have done well with this free, annual competition as well as our club entries for the club vs. club competition. Here you can see how we’ve done in the past.
Invitation:
Our board will meet on Wednesday, January 12, 7:00 pm to plan for the coming year. Please join us! It will be an opportunity to contribute and to shape our club’s future.
