It was a fun and different meeting last night! We broke into small groups and critiqued the same 4 images. It was interesting that when we came back together, many of the comments, scores and advice were similar between the groups. That’s a good thing! I have included here a couple of the images. The top left image shows the base tree photograph that evolved into the creative image on the right using different layers and blending modes in Photoshop. The Cityscape below was one we quickly edited during the meeting based upon comments. It was great to have everyone participate and I hope people thought it was a worthwhile exercise!

And a reminder that April’s Special Assignment Category (worth 2 extra Salon points) is ‘Things around the house -Abstract style’. This will only be a one month assignment. Try and photograph everyday objects in a way that we can’t really tell what they are! Be creative in how you approach this. It will be fun for us to guess!
Have a great week and keep shooting!

Michael, Great examples of how post processing can deliver an image to a new level. Nice work!
Best meeting I’ve been to yet! Great to see such a large turnout too! Loved critiquing the photos! Hope we get a good turnout on St. Patty’s Day!
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!
Liked the meeting format this time. Good to interact with fellow club members. Like the highlight a person in the club also. It helps to learn about another’s photographic passion. Hope we continue to have photo “walks” so that one will fit my schedule and we can also shoot in other seasons. I really enjoy seeing everyone’s work. Thanks for all the help and tips.
